There are so many things to find on this site: Kids Events Around Town, Kids Birthday Party Venues , Travel Tips, Kids Eat Free Restaurants , Daycares and Preschools , Kids With Special Needs, Daily Activity Calendar, Sensory Recipes, Kids In the Kitchen, Area Parks and much more. Home Extension Activity Titles
There is always a Home Extension craft project at the top of each daily listing on the event calendar. We try to list a craft that coincides with one of the events to extend the fun. To make it easier to find the craft that suits your need there is now a craft title on each project. We have done this so you do not have to open each Home Extension Activity to see if it is what you want to make.

Blog....Blog... Blog
We enjoy finding and reading good blogs. We have listed some of our favorite blogs written by Mom’s and Dad’s that go over parenting, self-help, activities and much more. Check out the list and tell us if you know of a great one we might have forgot.

Back to School Books
School is starting very soon and sometimes help is needed with the big step of starting a new grade. We recommend these books to help you little one start school feeling at ease.

Resell It Shops
With school starting in just a few weeks many families have started their back to school shopping. A large portion of this shopping is often clothes and accessories for the kids, which can be very expensive. Don’t worry! Knowing the importance of saving money and doing things the economical way during these tight times, we have put together one of the bests lists of resell it shops around town. Check it out and let us know if we forgot your favorite place.

Metro East Classes
There is a wonderful list of classes by category on the St Louis Attractions Indoor/Outdoor Playgrounds and Classes page. Thanks to one of our members, it was brought to our attention that most of our class lists did not have any businesses in the Metro East area. Working to meet the needs of all our members, we have started the research to add more Metro East venues within the different class categories. High Five goes out to Sherry for helping us with this information.

Braeutigam Orchards
Occasionally if I find a new place that was awesome, I like to spread the word about the business. Last week I wanted to take the kids peach picking, but I wanted to try out a new orchard. I went down our list of ‘Pick Your Own’ farms and found Braeutigam Orchards in Belleville , Illinois . We packed up a lunch and headed to the orchard. Braeutigam is actually just a few miles from the Eckert’s Farm in Belleville . We were excited to find out that not only were we able to pick peaches, but they also had blackberries, tomatoes and egg plant available for picking. This friendly family farm has a great play area for the kids that include goats and chickens. If you are looking for a new place to take the kids picking, try out Braeutigam Orchards. Just remember to call any orchard before making the trip to verify they are open for picking.

Concert at Kangaroo Kids
It was wonderful meeting everyone at the ‘Star Studded Concert’ Wednesday at Kangaroo Kids. We had a great turnout and Lori put on a concert that kept all the kids dancing. If you were not able to meet this kidsinstl.com sponsored event, keep an eye out for the next one.

Our Favorite Things

Under a Shady Tree - This CD by Laurie Berkner is one of my kid’s favorites to sing with and dance to. The songs are catchy and easy to learn. You might even find your self humming the tunes.

Choo Choo Soul [CD/DVD] - I can credit this CD for teaching my little guy to sing the ABC’s almost before he could talk. The song is sung in a catchy rhythm that will have your toes tapping.

Not for Kids Only - My husband actually bought this CD after he attended a Teddy Bear Tea Party with my daughter at the library. He thought the singers sounded familiar and was floored to find out it was Jerry Garcia. This CD is one we can listen to in the car or at home and everyone enjoys the tunes.
