St Louis Family and Kid Activities from August 17 - August 23
WWW.kidsinstl.com Want to check out the best web site for families with kids in St Louis! There are so many things to find on this site: Kids Events Around Town, Kids Birthday Party Venues , Travel Tips, Kids Eat Free Restaurants , Daycares and Preschools , Kids With Special Needs, Daily Activity Calendar, Sensory Recipes, Kids In the Kitchen, Area Parks and much more. Here is a sneak peek of the activities for the week and some info from the site. Just go to http://www.kidsinstl.com/for the full list with details.
Kemp Auto Museum
Last Sunday my family and I went up to Kemp Auto Museum in Chesterfield Valley for their Big Truck Day. This was a free outside event in their parking lot and many of the vehicles open for the kids to explore. There were monster trucks, county salt trucks, big rigs, cement trucks, bulldozers and much more. The museum was also open for viewing, for a fee. The museum is usually open year round and is a place that can entertain car lovers from 3- 100 years old. My 4 yr old could not walk around enough times to see all the cars and the only word I heard out of his mouth for next hour was ‘cool’. Now I must disclose that the admission fees are not cheap ($8 adults, $3 kids) and I am not sure if there are discount coupons out there. However, if you do not mind splurging one weekend it is great family day that will hold the interest of young and old boys.
Children With Special Needs
With school starting this week, many parents of special need children are looking for resources to the best education as possible. In our Special Needs Section, we have a list of resources that consist of Individualized Education Guide, Early Childhood Interventions, Special Education Toys, Therapies, Respite Care and much more. If you know of a good resource or organization that we have forgotten, please drop us an e-mail kidsinstl@yahoo.com.
